pop UP politician - Arthur and Parkdale tonight

We were in the Arthur Street and Parkdale area tonight.

Thank you to everyone who showed their support for my campaign! Thanks for being so welcoming as we meet to discuss the issues.

Tonight we heard that citizens were bothered by the current council's decision to financially support an organization by providing the organization money...a loan...choosing to go against what was recommended by city administration...and noting that this money was not part of the approved budget process.

The people stressed that the issue is not the organization...the issue to them was twofold:

(a) what is the point of a budget process; and

(b) what is the role of administration in making recommendations to council?

Let me know your thoughts on this matter.

Was council correct in spending the money and supporting the organization even though the money was not budgeted for?

Or were they incorrect by ignoring the administration's  recommendation and spending money that was not budgeted for?

Does this open the door for any and all to come to council to obtain money and loans?
